Dark Eyed Gal

by
Ron Davies

Well the midnight train can come and go without me;
No I donít need no taxi back to town.
I think Iíll just stay right here in this deep old light,
I was supposed to meet someone here tonight,
Iím sittin' here thinking,
Waiting on a dark-eyed gal.

Well, I donít mind the rain; I never even noticed
And I donít feel the cold, it wouldnít matter anyhow,
As a matter of fact I could stay until the break of day,
I donít see as Iím in anybodyís way;
Iím just sittin here thinkin',
Waiting on a dark eyed gal.

She said sheíd meet me at the station,
I donít believe sheíll keep me waiting very long
Very long.

She never told me if she was coming with me
Or if she only meant to say her last farewell
Never was one to let me know her mind
So Iíll stay right here, keep doing my time
Just sitting here thinkin',
Waiting on a dark eyed gal.

The midnight train has come and gone without me now,
But I donít need no taxi back to town.
Matter of fact I could stay until the break of day
I don't see as I'm in anybody's way
Now Iím sittiní here thinkin',
Waiting on a dark eyed gal;
Yes Iím just sitting here drinkin',
Waiting on a dark-eyed gal.
